Morgan Plus Four

Morgan’s car giveaway for BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief’s ‘The Big Night In’ appeal raised a whopping £1.39 million.

The amount, which will be matched by the Government, will help the most vulnerable across the UK who have been affected by the pandemic.

The winner of the Morgan Plus Four has been contacted, and is “delighted and overwhelmed” to have won the car.

They will be handed the keys following an exclusive tour of the Morgan factory in Malvern, Worcestershire, and a bespoke vehicle specification session with the company’s in-house design team, after lockdown measures have been lifted.

The Morgan Motor Company, which donated the car to the appeal, will also be paying for the winner’s first year of tax and insurance, as well as two years’ servicing.

The Plus Four is Morgan’s newest model. It may look familiar, but under its skin lies the cutting-edge bonded aluminium platform, which offers high levels of strength and rigidity, yet weighs just 97 kg on its own.

Power comes from a BMW 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo engine producing 255bhp, enough to accelerate the Plus Four from 0-62mph in as little as 4.8 seconds, and a top speed of 149mph. The winner will be able to choose between an engaging six-speed manual or an advanced eight-speed automatic gearbox, depending on their preference.
